On September 3, 2018, Bethel Church in Washington D.C. hosted a one day retreat for Mid-Atlantic region. Members from Bethel Church in Washington, D.C. and Deer Park Church of North Carolina came together for the retreat. Everyone studied the Bible, broke bread, worshiped and prayed. "Honestly, I felt I wanted to just take a break and rest for the holiday. However, I see now how God gave us true rest through everyone coming together and seeking Him. He is our true rest," said Bethel Church minister Sam Kim. Kim shared, "I was touched to see how many members sincerely served each other thru this retreat. Three newcomers joined our retreat for the first time." Mandy Tang invited Gino Taylor a month ago for the Bible study at George Washington University.
