But later you will understand

John 13:7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

To know is to love and to love is to know. Yet, how much do we know about the love of Christ? Do we love Christ to know Him well?

Christ knows us well. He loves us.

Tommy Walker wrote a song titled, ‘He Knows My Name.’

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call

God loves me and He knows me. He knows my weaknesses. He knows my pain and He even knows when I will fail. But He sees me with the eyes of love and faith.

We pray that God can enable us to love Him more and know Him more during this season of Lent. We do not want to be a stranger to His love. But we hope to walk together with Christ in his death and resurrection.

We are weak and we fear death. Yet, what’s stronger than the power of death is love. As we come to receive and know the love of Christ for us, we too can live the life of love for God and for others, as shown by Christ, in building His kingdom.

Father God, you know us so well. You love us. Yet, Father God, we are like the disciples – don’t understand now, don’t know now, don’t see now. Please change our hearts so that we care, we know and we love you. In Jesus name.
